Challenging bushwalk with some amazing landscape and number of waterfalls - Wentworth Falls, Hippocrane Falls, Vera Falls and Valley of the Waters.

Day Trip: 5 hours circuit + time spent commuting

Difficulty: Good variety of terrain, moderate / hard difficulty - lots of steps, good training walk. Distance 13km loop. 1050m total elevation gain.

Starting point: Wentworth Falls train station

Finishing point: Wentworth Falls train station

Track notes:

Meeting with all group at coffee shop at Wentworth Falls. We started our hike at Charles Darwin walk through Jamison Creek - that is nice easy and flat walk following the stream. Than the track descends steeply down throught Wentworth Falls track and partly National Pass Track (otherwise National Pass track is permanently closed due to landslide a few years ago) all the way down to the bottom of Wentworth Falls. There are number of ladder along the way at Rocked Point Lookout and Eagle Nest Lookout. After reaching bottom of Wentworth falls we decided to take Hippocrene Falls and Vera Falls Track to connect to the Valley of the Water. Hippocrene and Vera Falls track is classified as a true wilderness, but evidently there was lots of maintenance done since our last visit and track is easy to follow and clear from all the brunches and fallen trees. On the way we stopped and Vera falls for lunch and a few of our members went for swim as well. This track is less busy then Wenworth Falls section if you prefer to stay away from crowds.

Hippocrene and Vera Falls track took us across towards Valley of the Waters - passing Empress Lookout. From this point it's possible to ascend to Conservation Hut and return to the village. We decided to extend our walk a bit and join Nature Track and by pass the town area before returning to Wentworth Falls Train station.

This walk is of a moderate to hard level, requires good fitness level due to some steep sections and elevation difference. There are numerous steps and some parts can be steep in ascending and descending. Distance: 13km

Elevation Gain: 1050m
